When you buy a backing track you buy both the sound recording and the rights to use the sound recording for you own purpose.
The rights associated with the tracks are split between Ameritz and the music publishers.
Because of this agreement the revenue generated when we sell a track is split between Ameritz and the music publishers.
The MCPS/PRS have granted Ameritz two licences to do this.
- The Joint Online Licence or JOL (for downloads)
- The SG6 licence for physical sales (CD’s and others)
Ameritz reports all it’s sales to MCPS/PRS regularly so the original publishers get paid.
When you buy a track from us you can be sure that the music is totally legal.
From the musicians that make the tracks to the people that write the songs, everybody gets paid.
If you would like to see further details about ‘personal use’ please view our terms and conditions
If you have any further legal questions please contact us and we would be happy to help.
